Hi {{first_name}} -
You might be surprised to know that I am not a big supplement person. Before GLP-1 Hub, I ran a content agency that wrote content primarily for supplement companies. (I actually still write for several of the Nestlé supplement brands.)
This work gave me interesting insight into how the supplement industry works and how much of it can just be really good marketing. And also, how important it is to understand the “WHY” behind a product, rather than just jumping on the next trendy bandwagon.
So let’s talk about what supplements I think you should consider on a GLP-1 and why.
First, many of you are managing multiple medical conditions and/or taking many different medications. If that is the case, please speak with a healthcare provider before adding anything to your routine. Supplements can interact with medications and/or medical conditions, so please be cautious. My recommendations are not personalized to your specific condition.
Alright, the only GLP-1 supplement I think you need is a multivitamin. I am currently taking this one by Metagenics because they are a high quality brand with a proven track record of great products.
But I don’t love the large pills, so I’ll probably go back to Gruns once this bottle is done because I prefer gummies.
Honestly, most multivitamins will be just fine for your needs. The only caveat is that if you are a post-menopausal woman, I would consider a tailored multivitamin for your age, as nutrient needs change as we age, and you don’t need a lot of iron. Something like this would work.
Other than that, there aren’t any that are a MUST-HAVE, especially if you have a limited budget trying to pay for your medication.
But there are others that I am personally taking right now for specific reasons. You can find my list here.
Probiotic: The resbiotic GLP-1 postbiotic is a great option to support a healthy metabolism on a GLP-1. Their head dietitian is going to come on the podcast soon to talk about the results of their new study, which had incredible results. I think it doesn’t hurt to support the gut microbiome a bit.
Timeline’s Mitopure: Every podcast that I have been listening to lately is talking about mitochondrial health as the key to longevity. Urolithin A (the ingredient in the Timeline gummies), helps support mitochondrial health AND muscle strength. And they taste good, which honestly makes it easy to add to my day.
GoHydrate Creatine: I literally love this product. I like the flavor. I like the fact that it is an easy way to add creatine to my day. I just ran out and am going to be ordering more.
Omega-3s: I recently found out I have some genetic risk factors for cardiovascular disease. One of the recommendations to help lower this risk is to boost my intake of omega-3 fats. I added this supplement to see if it might help.
I also add a vitamin D supplement in the winter because I hate going outside when it’s cold, so I can use a bit of support. But I am not taking that right now because it’s still 100 degrees outside!
The bottom line is this: don’t take supplements unless you know WHY you are taking them. Typically, more is not better. So be aware of fancy marketing because if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

What’s Happening This Week
This week on the podcast, I interviewed Jay Bregman of Andel, a company that is trying to get more employers to cover branded GLP1 medications. I like to host people like Jay occasionally to understand what the insurance side of the GLP1 space is doing.
Some listeners seemed to be upset about his negative opinion about compounded meds, but my goal with this podcast is NOT to just platform people I agree with or that have a specific point of view. I want to explore the GLP1 conversation from multiple perspectives, and Jay had valuable insights to share.
I also interviewed GLP-1 user Teresa Keever about her experience with split dosing her GLP1 due to severe side effects that made her quit at first. I love having these conversations about how people are personalizing their care to work for them. (Always speak with your doctor before changing your dose.)
Over on YouTube, I posted a video about what to do if you are losing weight too fast. While many of us want to lose weight faster, this isn’t everyone’s experience, so I thought I would address it.
Thank you so much for being here! See you next week!
