Hi {{first_name}} -

If you’ve been here for a while, you'll notice something shifting moving forward.

And if you’re new, welcome! You’re joining at an important moment in this GLP-1 journey.

Most conversations around GLP-1 medications have focused on getting started because many of us were new to these meds. Afterall, they only got approved for weight loss 3 years ago.

We have been worried about questions like:

What to eat.
How much protein do we need?
How to manage side effects.
How fast is the scale moving?

That’s important, and I have been creating a lot of resources to help you get those answers. (My Beyond the Shot guide is a great place to start if you are brand new)

But lately I’ve been thinking about what happens after the first few months. And based on audience surveys, most of you are NOT brand new.

As someone who has been on these meds for 3 years, my new weight has become my new normal. The excitement of the weight loss has worn off.

At first, fitting into a size 10 or medium was pure joy, but underneath, there’s a flicker of fear and dissatisfaction. Thoughts like “maybe I should lose a little more,” creep in often. This is also why, for a long time, I refused to get rid of the larger sizes. There is still the thought of, I have always gained it back before, why would this be different?

You may have also thought:

“What if this doesn’t last?”

“What happens if I stop?”

“Can I trust myself now?”

This is the part that no one talks about because the weight loss phase is the exciting part. But what about the rest of your life, once this phase is over? And it’s the part that determines whether results actually stick. And what long-term “results” actually look like.

So this newsletter is evolving.

Welcome to The Steady State Newsletter: Maintenance & Mindset on GLP-1. Because long-term success isn’t just about the medication.

It’s about much more than just losing weight. We will be focusing on:

Learning how to maintain and grow muscle.
Understanding what eating long-term actually means (it’s not about counting calories FORVER)
Reducing anxiety around food.
Building routines that don’t depend on motivation.
Regulating your nervous system so stress doesn’t send you spiraling.
Becoming the person on the outside you’ve always felt like on the inside.

Yes, we’ll still talk protein targets, fiber, labs, supplements, research, and dosing questions.

But we’re also going to talk about identity shifts. About fear of regain.

About the psychological transition from “trying to lose weight” to “this is just how I live now.”

My goal isn’t just to help you lose weight. It’s helping you reach a place where your life feels calm. Steady. Sustainable.

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to start digging into that deeper layer. Because the real win isn’t fast progress. It’s durable progress.

And that requires a different conversation outside of “how much protein do I need”. (The answer is about 100 grams. Here is a video on how to reach that goal.)

Want GLP-1 results that actually last?

Most GLP-1 programs focus on getting you started. Very few focus on helping you keep the weight off.

  • Personalized nutrition guidance that works with GLP-1s

  • Ongoing access to a real care team, so questions, plateaus, or side effects don’t derail progress

What’s Happening This Week

I had two of the most important weight maintenance researchers on the podcast last week, Dr. Holly Wyatt and Dr. Jim Hill, to talk about what it takes to get off GLP1 meds and maintain the weight loss long-term. While these two have 40 years of research to back up their claims, after reading their book, I felt like GLP1s are my best long-term plan for maintenance. (You can check out their book here).

I also chatted about binge eating with Amber Abila and how to rewire your brain if you are struggling with this.

Over on YouTube, I shared a video about weird GLP1 side effects. I would love to hear about yours, or if you have experienced any of the things I mentioned. I also talked about hair loss and how to prevent it.

Thank you so much for being here! See you next week!
